OPEN EXHIBITION

APRIL 5th -APRIL 30TH 2024

“Dear Mother Earth”

The Art Guild of Create Durango, Colorado is pleased to announce a call to artists to participate in an open exhibition with the theme;

“Dear Mother Earth” We invite artists to make work exploring the breadth of interpretations around the theme of “Dear Mother Earth” The work will be displayed at the gallery in April, 2024.

This exhibit is open to artists working in any traditional or contemporary media. Artists of all stages of their career are encouraged to enter. See Eligibility below for more information regarding acceptable entries.

CALENDAR

Wednesday April 3rd, In-person drop off of work to Create Art and Tea, 1015 Main Ave, Durango, CO 81301. Between 11am and 2pm

Shipped work: If you are shipping your work to the gallery, it must be received no later than

April 1st, 2024 by 6 pm. Artists must include adequate packaging material for the repacking and return of unsold artwork, as well as a pre-paid return shipping label. Create Art and Tea is not responsible for the cost or insuring of shipped artwork to and from the Gallery. For those shopping work, plexiglass or acrylic must be used in place of glass. Artwork shipped with glass will not be accepted.

Friday April 5th, Opening Reception for the exhibit, Create Art and Tea 5 to 9pm.

Wednesday, May 1st, Pick up; Retrieve unsold work from Create Art and Tea between 11am-2-pm.

Unsold artwork which needs to be shipped back will be packaged and sent the week of May 1st.

ELIGIBILITY

Maximum size for 2D work is 25”x25”. With an open show like the space is ALWAYS

an issue. Please be considerate of the overall exhibit (this isn’t the place for 2 huge pieces)

All 2D work must be wired with FRAMING WIRE; no sawtooth or similar hangers will be accepted. Three-dimensional artwork must be ready to install, or otherwise display. All artwork must be ready to hang/ display, with all hanging hardware, display equipment, etc., including any detailed instructions, if applicable, Artists submitting audio and or video work must provide a means of displaying their work i.e. computer, projector, speakers, etc. Work submitted must have been completed. Within the last 2 years. ALL SUBMITTED WORK MUST BE FOR SALE

There is a limit to 35 pieces accepted in this exhibit. Pieces will be accepted in a ‘first come first served’ manner on drop off day.

$30 for one (1) entry

$65 for two (2) entries

Pre paying will not guarantee that your work will be entered in the show.

LICENSE

Create Art and Tea reserves the perpetual right to use your image(s) for promotional purposes, and when possible, Create Art and Tea will credit the artist in any postings. Create Art and Tea will use the images solely for promotional purposes, and not for Create ARt and Tea’s own financial gain.

INSURANCE

Create Art and Tea is not responsible for the loss or damage of artwork during travel to or from the Gallery. Works will be insured by Create Art and Tea for the duration of the exhibit. Coverage will not exceed $3000, works priced above this limit are the artist’s liability.

SALES AND COMMISSION

Create Art and Tea will retain a 40% commission on all works sold.

PAYMENT FOR WORK SOLD

Artists will receive payment from works sold during the exhibit within 14 days following the end of the exhibit.
