HARLENE RUSSELL
As a child, she loved to draw and paint, but the first time she sunk her hands into the soft silky sand of the New Mexico desert, a love affair began. The inspiration of the Southwest is found in many of her wheel- thrown pieces. Some clay is left unglazed to bring texture and uniqueness to the piece.
Harlene Russell is a self-taught ceramicist of ten years. She was educated in both New Mexico and Utah and is a counselor in Durango which became her home twenty-five years ago.
