Jim Lutomski is an active exhibiting artist with an extensive National and International exhibition record.

Former head of the Ceramic Department and Art Department chair at Marygrove College in Michigan he retired in 2015 after 42 years teaching and relocated to Southern Colorado. Jim’s exhibition record includes major solo exhibitions at The Detroit Institute of Art, Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Durango Art Center. In 2008, as part of a international exhibition, Jim was invited to exhibit and demonstrate in Gangjin, South Korea at the Gangjin Celadon Festival. It was in Korea that Jim was introduced to the Korean Tea community/culture. In 2017 he was selected as one of the 100 sculptors of the Mid-West to be a part of the exhibition 100 Hundred Sculptures/One Hundred Sculptors.

Jim works with sculptural approaches to clay as well as functional ceramic ware with a concentration on tea ware. In 2017 he and his wife Linda opened their new studio,1010ArtStudios, near Pagosa Springs, CO. where he continues to create and experiment with the ceramic media.
